The children came home from school with Xavier (remember, he goes just half days!). Before lunch, the boys and Izzi signed their names and drew pictures on a paper flag. We then ate, geared up and headed to the forest for a lively game of Capture the Flag. All the 2nd grade boys were on one team, and Todd and Isabella on the other. I documented the action in photo.
Todd and Isabella did a great job keeping the game interesting and challenging for the boys. They had such a good time chasing them around the forest, throwing snowballs along the way. After about 90 minutes of play, we headed back to the house for pinata-smashing, gift-opening, cake-eating and free play.
It was an extremely joyful and lively day! Todd and I both breathed a huge sigh of relief after the last friend left.
