Isabella and Xavier's school resides on property that was previously a farm. Thus, many of the buildings from the farm are still there and used by the school, such as the cheese making building.
Today Isabella and several others in her class made cheese. A parent in the class, who owns her own farm and is a cheese maker, led them through the process. Below is a picture of Isabella and the portion of cheese that she brought home. She will continue to care for the cheese until it is aged and ready for eating.

Hi folks,
ReplyDeleteReuben and I just spent a very pleasant and interesting few minutes catching up on your blog. I love hearing about your lives in Switzerland. Reuben has been home for a few days feeling under the weather. He has, however, been able to start his research on sea otters and we are learning amazing facts about these sweet, little creatures. In addition to a written report about their animals, each child has to create a diorama that depicts their animal's habitat.
As you probably know, we've had an early and slowly developing spring this year. It has been very dry and mostly warm since almost the beginning of March. My garden looks more like end of May or beginning of June than beginning of May.
Reuben sent an email to Izzi this morning and hopes Izzi will write back to him in one form or another.
We think of you all with warm thoughts and happy wishes for a good spring,
Kate, Reuben and Michael
